I came from Ukraine a year ago. I lived in Odessa, a beautiful city on the Black Sea. Before the war I had a wonderful life. I had a very nice job and everything in my company went the way I wanted it to. I was very successful. But one day everything changed. Everything turned upside down. In one moment I stopped thinking about my business and home, but only about how to get my family to safety. I wanted to get away from where they bombed. I didn't want my daughter to hear and see that. But unfortunately at that moment I had no documents at hand at all, no passports, yes nothing! All official documents were at that time with the Immigration Service. With God's help I found an old passport and we managed to get out of Ukraine and reach the Netherlands. And now I've opened my own business and can do the work I love and have been successful at. My daughter goes to school and learns Dutch. My wife is trying to get used to everything here; she doesn't leave the house much. I am very happy that I ended up in such a beautiful country, where the people are nice and friendly and eager to help. I really enjoy communicating with people here and thank all the volunteers and especially Willemijn for her kindness and support in everything!
