Wake up by explosions. The rush to find your passport. A harrowing train journey shrouded in darkness to avoid Russian troops. This is how Ukraine and the world were shaken up.
Born and raised in Ukraine, but living in the Netherlands, I immediately knew: I'm going to help. I registered with many volunteer organizations. I am a volunteer at the Salvation Army (accompanied Dutch host family who take care of Ukrainian guests), I am a host family for Ukrainians, an interpreter in hospitals (as a doctor I know Dutch and Ukrainian medical terminology).
After getting acquainted with the Social Brigade, I had a feeling: I want to be here. With these people I want to contribute to help for Ukrainians because I immediately saw the result of all efforts.
Am very grateful to everyone. We continue: Glory to Ukraine, Glory to Ukrainian and Dutch Heroes!
